No city income tax in Rogers City
Money and taxes
Good news for your budget: Rogers City does not have a city income tax. Michigan lets cities charge a local income tax on top of the state’s, but only about two dozen of them do — mostly larger cities downstate like Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. Rogers City isn’t one of them, and neither is its neighbor Onaway.
The closest city that charges a local income tax is Grayling, about 85 miles to the southwest. So unless you commute to a city that has its own income tax, the only income tax you’ll pay as a Rogers City resident is the state’s flat rate. Your local taxes here are mostly property taxes, which keeps things simple.
