Good news on local income tax in Roscommon
Money and taxes
If you’re moving to Roscommon, here’s one you can cross off the worry list: there’s no local income tax to deal with. In Michigan, only certain cities are allowed to charge a city income tax — and Roscommon isn’t one of them. In fact, Roscommon County has no cities at all, just the village of Roscommon and a ring of townships.
So the only income tax you’ll file here is state and federal, not a separate local one. Your local costs come mainly from property taxes, which pay for schools, roads, and county services.
