No city income tax in Reed City or Evart
Money and taxes
Good news if you’re moving to one of Osceola County’s two cities: neither Reed City nor Evart charges a city income tax. In Michigan, only about two dozen cities levy a local income tax, and these two aren’t among them.
So in Reed City or Evart, the only income tax you’ll file is state and federal — there’s no separate city income tax taken out of your paycheck or owed at tax time. Your local costs here come mainly from property taxes, which fund schools, roads, and city and county services.
