No city income tax here in Gratiot County
Money and taxes
Some Michigan cities charge their own income tax on top of the state’s — 24 of them, including nearby Saginaw. Gratiot County’s cities are not among them. If you live or work in Alma, Ithaca, or St. Louis, you won’t pay a separate city income tax. You’ll still owe Michigan’s flat state income tax (4.25%) and, of course, your local property taxes, but there’s no extra municipal income tax to file or withhold here.
