Dixboro is Superior Township's village green
Superior Township has no incorporated village, but Dixboro still feels like one. It was an early settlement along Plymouth-Ann Arbor Road beside Fleming Creek. Houses from the 1830s survive around a street grid, church, schoolhouse, and small village green.
The green remains a gathering place for a farmers market, movies, and local events. Just southeast of the village is Cherry Hill Nature Preserve. Its 160 acres protect wetlands, woods, meadows, and trails.
Dixboro gives a spread-out township a recognizable center without turning it into a city. The crossroads is small enough to walk, old enough to remember the farm era, and still useful enough to host an ordinary summer evening.
The village and Cherry Hill preserve are related, but they are not one park. Township maps cover the preserve, while the village calendar covers events on the green. At the crossroads, notice how close the houses and civic buildings sit. It is a different pattern from the larger lots and newer roads around them.
